Right after he sent the text Loki regretted it. Opening up, talking about family, all of it sounded quite horrible. He could just disappear again, avoid it all. At the very least just continue over text, but no. He had spent so much energy running, it was time to face it.

He could have teleported straight into Thor's living room, and normally he would (just to annoy the thunderer), but this time he appeared outside the door and gave a polite knock. As much as it pained him to admit, now wasn't the time for games. Later he may revert back to joking, it was his natural defense when things got a bit too much, but for now he could put up the effort.

Thor deserved that much.
